Meet: 阿狸 (A-li)Ali the Fox, NOT the Boxer!

Ali is a red fox in white pants.

He was originally a cartoon character created in Chinese picture book series.

Unlike most well-known cartoon characters are famous for certain movie or animated cartoon, Ali became extremely popular as an internet emoticon on social media, including WeChat, QQ, Sina Weibo, Renren, and etc. Download of Ali’s emoticon on WeChat is more than 2 billion!

In 2012 Asia Licensing Awards, Ali was granted “Best Young Property in Asia”. He was the first ever Chinese character that won this award. In the same year, the first Ali physical store was open in Beijing. And in 2 years, more than 10 off-line Ali stores were open in China.

Ali is definitely one of the most influential Chinese cartoon characters in recent years. There are thousands of licensed products available on the market, from housewares to games, accessories to apparels.

China is the world’s fastest-growing licensing market, with 24% increase in the overall market in 2015. With total retail sales of licensed product is at USD7.6 billion (including Hong Kong), it only represents 3% of the global market. There is still a huge potential to grow.

Grasp your share of China’s licensing market. Licensing Expo China is the gateway to China and the region’s licensing business.
