Specialized Zones and Matchmaking Service to Debut at the Second Annual Licensing Expo China 2018

China Licensing Awards Will Recognize Licensing Innovation

Shanghai (December 5, 2017) – Licensing Expo China, sponsored by LIMA, today announced that its second annual event will take place from July 25 – 27, 2018. Following its successful debut in July 2017 with more than 230 brands, and more than 8,400 attendees with an additional 26,600 crossover attendees from Children Baby Maternity Expo (CBME), its expo space has grown to 20,000sqm, as a result of the Chinese licensing market’s continued growth. Animation, Film/TV/Broadcast, Entertainment, Sports, Game, Museum/Culture/Art, Corporate Brands, and Character brands will be present, including exhibiting companies such as Shanghai Animation Film Studio, Hangzhou Thunder Animation Co. LTD, Soap Studio Company Limited and UYoung Culture & Media Co. LTD. Additionally, for the second consecutive year, the world’s largest children’s tradeshow, CBME, will be co-located with Licensing Expo China. For additional information and to register visit:

“We’re excited to be working with LIMA and our UBM China colleagues to bring Licensing Expo China back to Shanghai in July. The expanded floorplan and new zones will mean more exhibitors and an easy-to-navigate show floor,” said Jessica Blue, senior vice president, Global Licensing Group, UBM. “The new Matchmaking Service will provide attendees and exhibitors with a way to enhance the quality and success rate of meetings and grow their businesses.”

Licensing Expo China will cater to three trending licensing categories by offering specialized zones on the show floor:
• The Film, Television and Entertainment Zone will cover film, television, video, entertainment and more to develop licensing market.
• The Museum, Culture and Art Zone will showcase licensing opportunities in museums, art galleries, culture, internet literature and more.
• The Gaming Zone will feature notable brands in gaming and allow attendees to learn more about the biggest leader in the entertainment industry.

Due to its previous success at Licensing Expo and Brand Licensing Europe, the Matchmaking Service will debut at Licensing Expo China 2018. Matchmaking is an online tool that provides licensees, agents, manufacturers and retailers with a user-friendly way to connect face-to-face and will be offered in both Mandarin and English. At Licensing Expo 2017, more than 3,800 meetings were scheduled using this service, and it is a tremendous value-add for Licensing Expo China exhibitors and attendees.

In addition to the expo, Licensing Expo China and LIMA will organize and host the 2nd annual China Licensing Awards, the industry’s most anticipated award show honoring renowned experts, industry leaders and media, for their innovation and creativity. A Licensing Seminar Program will also take place during the three days of Licensing Expo China, supported by LIMA and industry experts to discuss trends, share their knowledge and provide insights to help you grow your licensing business.
